How We Promote Safe and Environmentally Sound Work Practices

Safety is Central to How We Do Business

At SCL, safety is not just an item on our everyday checklist. We have a dedicated committee and an internal department in place to ensure our employees operate at the highest standards of safety, and that all products at our facilities and those delivered to customers are handled with the utmost care.

We keep safety top of mind for several reasons, one of which is because we are a family-run business that truly cares about our employees and another is that we know our long standing reputation on reliability rests on our capability and success in this area.  Drivers have undergone OSHA 30 Construction and General Industry safety training courses.  To promote safer work practices and prevent accidents and exposures, OSHA 10 (Construction), OSHA 10 (Maritime) provide SCL Team Members with the skills and knowledge that is necessary to enforce safety and health at work.  Dry Dock Training and Certification and Driver Background Investigations (DBID) continue our commitment to workplace safety.

Also, select SCL team members maintain Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credentials, permitting seamless access to deliver products at military installations throughout California.

In addition to carrying out safety guidelines related to individual products within our portfolio, we also abide by basic principles as a company created by our SCL Safety Committee. Our goal is to empower our employees to take part in the safety process every day, which we believe is the only way to ensure our team makes decisions that lead to positive results.
