Salute to SCL's Veterans

On this Veterans Day 2019 we pause to thank all our nation's veterans and their families.

Luis Mejia, Richmond Operations Manager - United States Army

Served from 1999-2006 as a 44-B. Welder/ Metal Worker. 2000 - Joined B-Co. 426th Forward Support Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Ky. 2003-2004 - Deployed to Kuwait and Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) with B-Co. 426th F.S.B. in support of the 327th Infantry Regiment. 2005-2006 - Re-deployed to Northern Iraq, Kirkuk for Operation Iraqi Freedom III (OIF III) with the newly formed 426th Brigade Support Battalion in support of the 1st. Brigade Combat Team.

Mike Schulze, Sales  - United States Navy  

ET1/SS/DV (1st Class Petty Officer E6) ET - Electronic Technician (Nuclear) SS submarine qualified (dolphins) I have the pins on my backpack. DV - Diver.

Jeff Lee, Director of Safety & Compliance - United States Marine Corps     

E8 - Master Sergeant 28 years of U.S. Department of Defense experience in Telecommunications, IT physical operations, Logistics, Operations Management and Project Management in the United States Marine Corps. Stationed at San Diego, Okinawa, Camp Pendleton.

Jeremie Keller, Driver  - United States Navy  

Petty officer third class (E-4) Culinary Specialist (CS) from 2001-2009 station on the USS Nimitz (CVAN-68), USS McFaul (DDG 74), and Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. Operated and managed Navy messes, at sea and ashore, made sure that the fellow cure men where fed; estimated quantities and types of food items required; assisted Supply Officers in ordering and stowage of subsistence items and procurement of equipment and mess gear; checked delivery for quantity and assist medical personnel in inspection for quality; prepared menus; planned, prepared, and served meals; maintained food service spaces and associated equipment in a clean and sanitary condition, including storerooms and refrigerated spaces; maintained records of financial transactions; and submitted required reports.

Armando Lieras, Operations Manager - United States Marine Corps

1995-1999 Corporal, United States Marine Corps 3rd Battalion 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division Deployed Okinawa, Japan, Kuwait, Australia, U.S.S New Orleans.

Brett Leggitt, Richmond Facility Manager  - United States Air Force  

                        

Brett served four years on active duty as a C-5 Loadmaster with the 75th and 21st Airlift Squadrons. For his role in support of Operation Restore Hope Mogadishu Somalia, Brett was awarded the aerial achievement medal six times, and in 1994 was named Airman of the Year for 60th Operations Group based at Travis Air Force Base. After leaving active duty he continued to serve as an active member of the United States Air Force Reserve for another six years flying with the 68th and 301st Airlift Squadrons.

Keith Kerslake, Sales - United States Marine Corps

Entered Marine Corps in 1966, the month after high school graduation. Over course of five years promoted to Staff Sergeant E-6. Commissioned to 2nd Lieutenant in 1972. Medical Discharged in June 1972.

Army NG and ended with the rank of Sergeant
